Product Management Instructor

What
Teaching PoC high schoolers in LA product management.

Why
Working as a hiring manager for years, I did not see as many PoC applicants who had a solid product background. I really enjoy working with the students and want to help get more PoC candidates in product and other tech roles.

Brooklyn Public Library

2019 - 2020

Adult Literacy Instructor

What
Worked with adult learners on reading skills, sight words, spelling and grammar, computer literacy, and other everyday life such as emails and filling out applications.

Why
Through my own life’s experience and my work, I see how having low tech and literacy skills can leave people out. I wanted to work with people and help them develop and feel confident in their abilities.

People I’ve worked with

  • Youth who: are LGBTQ+, have or currently experiencing homelessness, from low-income families, have children, in foster care, involved in the court system

  • Everyday New Yorkers at: libraries, community resources fairs, high school fairs, senior centers, community orgs

  • Service providers: case workers, outreach staff, parent coordinators, intake staff, library staff, after school program coordinators
